Terms of Service

← Back to Ulat
For all Ulat accounts · Updated September 21, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Ulat Software Development Services ("Ulat"), a business registered with the Philippine Department of Trade and Industry under Business Name No. 8502298 and with the Bureau of Internal Revenue under TIN 480-293-557-00000. They apply when you create an account or use the Ulat web or mobile apps, whether as an instructor, a student or a guardian. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use the service.

1. What Ulat is

Ulat is a gradebook service for instructors. It computes grades under Philippine grading systems, records attendance, produces reports and analytics, and shares each student's own records with that student and their linked guardians through the Ulat mobile app.

2. Your account

You need an account to use Ulat. Keep your password confidential and tell us right away at [email protected] if you believe someone else has used your account. You are responsible for activity done through your account, and you must use your real identity when registering. Instructors and guardians must be at least 18. Students under 18 use Ulat with the knowledge and consent of a parent or guardian, as section 12 explains.

3. Your students' data

When you upload a class list or record grades, attendance and remarks, you are entrusting us with information about your students. We process it only to run the service for you, as described in our Privacy Policy. You confirm that you are allowed to use this information for class record keeping under your school's policies and Philippine law, including the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173). Grades and remarks you record are your professional judgment, not ours.

4. Sharing with students and guardians

Students see only their own records after they link an account through your class join code and their roster details. Guardians see a student's records only after a valid invite from you or from the student. You control each class's sharing policy for missing work and remarks. Review it before inviting guardians.

5. Plans, payments and refunds

The Free plan covers 2 active classes. Pro costs ₱199 per month or ₱1,199 per year and removes the class limit, with new accounts starting on a Pro trial. Payments are processed by PayMongo. We never see or store your card number. GCash, GrabPay and QR Ph payments are yearly only and never renew automatically. When a subscription lapses you keep access until the current term finishes, after which the account moves to Free and extra classes become read only. Nothing is deleted when a plan lapses. If a charge looks wrong, email [email protected] within 30 days and we will make it right.

6. Fair use

Use Ulat for legitimate class record keeping. Do not upload records of people who are not your students, attempt to access other users' data, resell the service, probe or overload our systems, or use Ulat for anything unlawful. We may suspend accounts that break these rules, and we will tell you why.

7. Your content and our software

Class records you create belong to you and your institution. You can export them at any time from the Export menu. We claim no ownership over them. The Ulat software, design and branding belong to us.

8. Service quality and backups

We work to keep Ulat available and back up the database every 6 hours to storage outside the main server. Still, Ulat is provided as is. No online service can promise perfect availability, so keep your own exports of anything critical, especially at the end of a grading period.

9. Limits of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms removes rights that Philippine consumer law gives you.

10. Ending the agreement

You can stop using Ulat and ask us to delete your account at any time by emailing [email protected]. Export your records first, since deletion is permanent. We may end the agreement with 30 days' notice, or immediately for serious breaches of section 6.

11. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will show a notice in the app at least 15 days before the change takes effect. Continuing to use Ulat after that date means you accept the new terms.

12. Students and guardians

Students and guardians use Ulat through the mobile app under these same terms, free of charge. A student account shows only that student's own grades, attendance and class records, as shared by their instructor. A guardian account shows only what a linked student chooses to share, and guardian links start from an invite the student sends. If you are a student under 18, use Ulat with the knowledge and consent of your parent or guardian. Grades are recorded and controlled by instructors, so requests to correct a grade go to the instructor, not to Ulat.

13. Law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. Questions and disputes go first to [email protected], and we will do our best to resolve them directly.
